Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) — also known as Graves’ orbitopathy or thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy — is an autoimmune condition that affects the eyes and surrounding tissues. It often occurs in people with hyperthyroidism, especially Graves’ disease, but it can also appear in those with hypothyroidism or even normal thyroid function.
